When it comes to effectively engaging with citizens, Pennsylvania Chief Information Officer John MacMillan points to a couple current efforts as evidence of the state's priorities.
"We're looking for new relationships in our data," he told Government Technology at the annual National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) conference last October. And Pennsylvania's not doing it alone. Below, MacMillan describes a collaborative coding competition involving a broad group of stakeholders.
He also detailed an effort to streamline the way citizens access digital services through the recent launch of a common identity and access management platform. The goal, as MacMillan put it, is to "help citizens when they're consuming services to have a single credential and be able to move from one service to another."
