Tim Wisniewski, who has served as Philadelphia's chief data officer for more than four years, is stepping down at the beginning of January, according to a report from Technical.ly Philly.

Wisniewski's departure comes as the city looks to reorganize the Office of Open Data and Digital Transformation, which he led. The office, which has been reporting to the chief administrative officer, will now become part of the Office of Innovation and Technology, led by Chief Innovation Officer Mark Wheeler.

The CDO has no plans for what he will do next, according to the report. Liana Dragoman, ODDT's deputy director, will lead the office in an interim capacity.

Wisniewski was appointed by former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter in July 2014. In addition to steering the city's open data efforts, he helped redesign the new wesbite it launched this year.
